Terms and conditions

1. Who we are

These terms cover the websites, hosting and extras supplied by Tech for Trades, trading as Websites for Heroes ("we", "us"). By ordering, you ("you", the business named on your order) agree to them. They are written for businesses; if you are ordering as a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.

2. What you get

We build your website from the design you pick and the details you give us, and put it live, normally within 24 hours of your order. There is no set-up charge for the website. Hosting is charged monthly at the price shown when you order. Extras (such as a custom domain, custom email, online booking, campaigns or monthly site updates) are optional, charged monthly at the prices shown when you add them, and can be added or removed later.

You can see your website with your own details before you pay. Before it goes live you have one free round of wording changes. After that, changes are made through the Monthly site updates extra, or quoted separately.

3. Payment

We take payment monthly by card through Stripe, in advance, starting on the day you order. Prices are in pounds sterling. We will tell you before any price changes, and a change only applies from your next payment after at least 30 days’ notice. Card payment providers charge their own fees on take-payment features; those are not ours.

4. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time. Cancel by emailing [email protected] or messaging us on WhatsApp, and we will confirm your end date by reply.

A 30-day notice period applies. Your website and extras stay live, and are charged, until the end of that 30 days, and then stop. Nothing further is charged after that date.

We may end the service on 30 days’ notice to you. We may end it straight away if you stop paying, break these terms or use the website unlawfully.

5. Your content

You must own, or have permission to use, the logo, photos, words, reviews and other material you give us, and it must be accurate and lawful. You keep ownership of it. You give us permission to use it to build, host and run your website. If you stop using the service we remove your website and content from our systems, except where we must keep records by law.

Any extra pages or wording we write for you are for your use on your website. Please check them: you are responsible for what your website says about your business.

6. Google and other third parties

If you choose your business on Google, we show its public rating, review count and reviews on your website. This information comes from Google, belongs to Google and its users, and can change. We do not choose or edit reviews, and cannot guarantee that a particular rating or review will appear.

Domain names, email, booking, payments and similar extras rely on other providers. We are not responsible for their outages or changes, though we will help you sort problems out.

7. Domains and email

When we register a domain name or set up email for you, the registration is made for your business and we will help you move it elsewhere if you ask. Domains are renewed for as long as you pay for them.

8. Keeping the site running

We aim to keep your website available at all times, but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may pause it briefly for maintenance or to deal with security problems. We do not guarantee any particular number of visitors, enquiries, bookings or search ranking.

9. Using your website

You must not use your website to break the law, mislead customers, infringe other people’s rights, or send spam. We may take a website down if we reasonably believe it is doing any of these, and will tell you why.

10. Our responsibility

We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect loss, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.

11. Your data

We use the details you give us to build and run your website, take payment and contact you. We do not sell them. Where we handle your customers’ details on your behalf (for example, booking enquiries), we do so only on your instructions. 12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will email you at least 30 days before a change that affects you takes effect, and you can cancel before then if you do not agree.

13. The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute.
